Hawkeye is Here!

she is a visiting mascot from Troop 68 in Sioux City, Iowa.
They enclosed a letter: We are excited to send you our mascot "Hawkeye" the Bear from Troop 68. We are Junior Girl Scouts (grade 5) and most of us attend Bryant Elementary School here in Sioux City. Our school is close to the Public Museum. Last year we had 15 scouts adn this year we will have our first meeting on Sept. 16.
We meet 2-3 times each month.
We enjoy troop meetings and council events like camping at Joy Hollow Girl Scout Camp, overnights at the Mall, swimming, Happy Holidays craft making, and earning badges. We have participated in two International Day festivals for Thinking Day. We have represented Norway and last year France and learned a lot about the country and scouting there. We do 4 community service projects each year as a troop. They help us make our community a better place to live.
Sioux City is a fun place to grow up. There are lots of things to do here! We are involved in tae kwon do, bowling, soccer, violin, church activities, rock climbing, piano, dance, gymnastics, and more besides SCOUTING. The city is known for many businesses that you may know: Sue Bee Honey, Palmer Candy, Jolly Time Popcorn just to name a few.
Please read about Sioux City and check out the maps, brochures, and on the internet! Show Hawkeye a good time while she visits your troop and take lots of pictures of her with your troop. She loves to travel and have fun!
Have a great year,
Love,
Troop 68 of Sioux City
