Teddy Bear Tea Party/ Easter Egg Hunt
Jazmine, Cortney, Morrisa, Morgan, Mackenzie, Katie, Kayla, Lindsay, Breanna, Dominique, & Cheyanne met at the Dailey House, where they dressed up in their "finest", disguised their stuffed friends as Bunnies, & were treated to Peach & Raspberry Teas, Petit Fours, Sugar Cookies, Honey Fruit Salad, & Cucumber & Peanut Butter Jelly Tea Sandwiches.
The Nut & Candy Sale prizes were handed out.
We wrote pen pal letters to Rochester NY.
Cortney will take Carly Cardinal home.
Mackenzie got the Friendship Book.
Carly Cardinal, Hawkeye The Bear, & Flat Troop Leader Diane were all our guests.
We are excited that Cheyanne wants to join our troop!
We went to the City Park where KJ hid Easter Eggs for us, Ms. Deb tried something new & had 2 personalized eggs for each girl with badges in them. Kelsie joined us after the Easter Egg Hunt, some of the girls gave her some of their goodies.
Ms. Deb forgot all about our craft, Eggimals (making Easter Eggs into loveable animals...guess we'll do it next time!)
All girls attending will receive the Girl Scout Teddy Bear Tea Party patch & an Easter Fun patch.
May looks pretty booked for everyone with vacations, graduations, dance contests, & bowling tournaments. Might have to postpone Awards Ceremony until June.

A Girl Scout Meeting
March 28, 2009 Katie, Jazmine, Cortney, Morgan, Breanna, & Lindsay had a Girl Scout meeting...it was sleeting & snowing. Morgan brought a Flat Stanley her cousin from Orion, IL had sent to visit her. The girls had fun playing with Katie's new miniature daschund Sasha Rose. Our New York pen pals sent us their flattened troop leader Diane. We drew names & she went home to visit Morgan. She has been staying at Katie's house.
The Brownies earned Building Art & Citizen Near & Far.
The Juniors earned It's Important To Me & Women's Stories.
We made scrapbooks for Girl Scout month. We also made more Flat Stacies, Breanna decided to send hers to visit her pen pal Milanne in New York. The rest of the girls opted to take theirs home. Deb made a couple of Flats to send to NY & TX, & sent each troop a Girl Scout Scrapbook, as well.
We learned about Hannah's Socks, a service project started when Hannah was 4 years old that has helped 3500 people in Ohio & Kay McLeroy, a woman in Mississippi who started a sanctuary for abused & mistreated big cats. She has 300 animals, spends $4200 a month on food for the cats, & $3,500 average a month on the vet bill.
We decided our perfect Girl Scout meeting place would have a rocket ship, museum, statues of Juliette Lowe & Jazmine & Breanna's mom, the Statue of Liberty, a club house, animal shelter, petting zoo, tree, farm, a plaque with the Girl Scout Promise & Law, limo, hot tub, pool, giant American flag, giant paper, a picture of all the Girl Scouts in the world, our own bedrooms, & a mall.
we tried a taking turns story about values....
Lindsay: money grows on trees
Jazmine: money everybody loves
Cortney: being a sister to every Girl Scout
Breanna: flying pugs that don't have motors or waste gas
Morgan: a witches eyes fall out
Cortney: hairy nose
Katie: I don't know.
Morgan: dogs clean eyeballs.
Our neighborhood would be better with a hotel, jail, mall.
Breanna thinks we need an amusement park.
Lindsay says a hospital.
Katie thinks an animal shelter.
Morgan says a jail.
Jazmine thinks a skyscraper.
Cortney says more bikes.
What is moxie? Moxie means energy, pep, courage, determination, know-how, and expertise-sometimes all rolled into one. A person full of moxie is one who has a lot of spirit mixed with skillfulness. (Another word for moxie might be 'guts').

penpal package
rec'd a package from our New York penpals with a variety of postcards, letters, swaps, brochures,a Flat Troop Leader, & a Girl Scouts against smoking program that their troop is going to do.
not everyone got a letter, so divided up the goodies among girls who didn't get letters.

for us to watch, I saw it years ago. Need to make sure it is a troop
appropriate movie.
2.hiking at Lake Paho.
3.troop camping in our yard, complete with s'mores & star gazing
4.a horse meeting.
5.awards ceremony
